LEGO Boys and the Crystal Skull

This summer the boys really have gotten into LEGO sets; we make chore charts for their favorites, and after the boys complete 20, 40, 80, 120, or more chores (based upon the cost of the item), they get the LEGO toy they have earned. It has really helped their work ethic to blossom!

Denyse noticed that a LEGO store was opening up near our area, so we took a fun family trip to the local mall. There we discovered a LEGO Master Builder who was working with the kids to build an 8-foot high R2-D2! The boys build a block that went into the sculpture, then headed down to the new LEGO store which contained, along with other great LEGO sculptures, this AWESOME life-size Indiana Jones, complete with bullwhip and crystal skull!

As a memento of the trip, the boys were given special commemorative posters and DUPLO blocks with R2-D2's image. What fun!
